It is possible to pick up your visa on arrival at certain airports and ports. You will only be able to pay in post-2006 US dollars. There is only one counter at airports, so it can be very time-consuming. Beware, immigration officers can reduce the validity of your classic visa as they see fit.

The e-Visa application must be made at least 7 days before your arrival. If your arrival is a long way off, we accept applications but will allow us to send you your e-Visa when it becomes available (approximately two and a half months before your arrival).

In the event that you are in transit and wish to exit the airport, you will need a visa. The transit visa allows you to stay up to 6 days on Tanzanian territory. You will need to be in possession of a plane ticket to a third country. Please contact the embassy for this type of visa.

Zanzibar is an island belonging to Tanzania. As passports are only checked when entering a country, there is no different procedure between Tanzania and Zanzibar. The e-Visa allows you to visit Tanzania Island (Zanzibar) or Mainland, without any worries.

Yes, minors also need an e-Visa. 

If a minor leaves French territory without a legal guardian, he or she must be in possession of an AST (authorisation to leave the country). This document can be requested online, and must be completed by one of the holders of parental authority. When travelling, this form must be accompanied by a copy of the identity document of the legal guardian.

The e-Visa issued will adapt to the dates of stay you indicate on the form. It allows you to stay a maximum of 90 days in the country, but if you indicate that you want to stay for a month, the e-Visa issued will only authorise you to stay for a month.
